Our regular monthly meeting on the first wednesday of every month!
Hanna Zoon will tell us about how she created a toolbox for performing UX research, which can be used without having any experience or knowledge of UX. Big help for small businesses, or are UX skills required to preform proper analysis? Join us for the discussion!
This month's meeting will be hosted by our friends at Grrr, who will also provide us with drinks, snacks and dinner.

Speaker: Hanna Zoon
Hanna Zoon is an interaction designer and design researcher, who currently teaches Interaction and UX design at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven. She studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven and received a master's degree in Industrial Design for the project ''Include', a Toolbox of User Research for Inclusive Design', which was developed in co-operation with TNO, an independent Dutch research organisation.
Talk: Do-it-yourself UX - Threat or opportunity
Small IT businesses often have misconceptions about user research and UX, that arise from lack of familiarity with it's benefits and practical implications. This means that end-users often are not involved in the design and development process.
To resolve this problem Hanna Zoon developed ‘Include’, a toolbox of user research methods. With this toolbox, it would be possible to do UX activities such as user research and evaluations, without previous experience and without hiring an expensive UX team.
We will discuss perspectives and attitudes from both IT companies and UX professionals. Is this a threat for UX practitioners or an opportunity to create wider interest in the field?
Do come and join the discussion about the 'do-it-yourself' trend and it's consequences!
