It's all over the internet and magazines: things you can make from ingredients you may already have in your kitchen and pantry to treat your skin. You've already been adjusting your diet and daily routines to be healthier and more eco-friendly, so why not apply the same to your skin care routine?
Your skin is an organ, just like the stomach, the liver, the kidneys and all the rest. It protects you from many harmful and toxic things. Did you know that it is an entry point as well? Via sweat ducts, hair follicles, and sebaceous glands, the skin absorbs chemicals, both good and bad, from our environment: the air, the rain, our clothes, and the soaps, creams, and other products we apply to it.
Join esthetician and massage therapist Sharon in discussing some of the benefits you can get from using your own home kitchen to take care of your skin. In addition to many things you might not have known you can use, you will learn about some common toxins to avoid in prepackaged products, experience some home-made solutions, and make your own skin care product to take home.
It's finally summer, and we're wearing sandals and the gloves are off! For this session, we will learn about ingredients for a home spa hands and feet treatment. We will talk about the products we use already, consider alternatives, sample home-made cuticle oil, make a scrub, and even take home some extra recipes for trying out later!
