Angela Friend will present an NLP-based measure of entropy to capture information density in text. The talk will cover a brief description of the idea of entropy and how it can be applied to education research.
Tiernan Doyle has been analyzing data from Boulder Flood Relief's response efforts to the September floods, and will show how using it can help strengthen, repair, and empower individuals and areas negatively impacted by the disaster.
Lexy Mastroianni will present on finding key correlations to IRS business lien filings, such as seasonality, unemployment, major stock indices and political shifts, as well as leading indicators that may suggest upcoming changes in lien volume.
Jane Zelikova will present on quantitative methods used to assess the effects of climate change on native grasslands.
