Yoga teaches that we can continually cleanse the "lens of our perception" every day to get ever closer to the "sunlight of our spirit" within-- meditation being perhaps the most powerful tool to experience and know that inner light. This is one of the reasons Paramhansa Yogananda fondly called meditation "a portable paradise."
In my own experience, I know that my days- and appreciation of each moment- undeniably goes much better when I meditate: among many things I feel calmer, grounded, and in touch with my intuition. If nothing else, that keeps me doing it!
This coming Wed, we'll explore how meditation
and a spirit of service
can help us have the courage to live from our higher ideals- while at the same time keeping our "feet on the ground." The great world spiritual traditions are unanimous that joyful service is an essential component on the path to inner freedom- to let go of the grip of loneliness- and yoga is no exception. From my own experience service can also truly be fun!I am really looking forward to exploring this one I hope to see you all there!
