Verse of the Kesa:
Great robe of liberation
Virtuous field far beyond form and emptiness
Wearing the Tathagata's teaching
We vow to free all beings
Purification:
All the twisted karma ever created by me since of old;
On account of my beginningless greed, hatred, and ignorance;
Born of my conduct speech and thought;
I now acknowledge openly and fully
Great Vows for All
The many beings are numberless, I vow to free them;
Greed, hatred, and ignorance rise endlessly, I vow to abandon them;
Dharma gates are countless, I vow to wake to them;
Buddha’s way is unsurpassed, I vow to embody it fully.
A chance to share thoughts or reflections with the group (optional) will follow.
One can join the online meeting room before the first sit, or during the walking times, just as in our in-person zendo. People may sit the first period, the second period, attend the talk, or any combination of those three.
We hope these meetings give a chance for folks to reconnect or to try out the group for the first time. If you haven’t sat in-person before and have questions, please email zen@alaska-zen.org Take good care for the sake of all beings and we hope to sit with you soon,
