Poetry workshop, reading and podcast hosted in Andersonville, Chicago. During the meeting, this group will read 2-3 poems, discuss poetry, listen to people read their own work, and record a group podcast. The podcasts will be posted on the Internet, and may be downloaded and saved as mp files. Podcasts may also be broadcast and rebroadcast using new live sharing applications. All styles of collaboration, slam and performance are welcome, although the focus is poetry and spoken word. You are welcome to bring your own chapbooks and books to share or promote before the event and while meeting people. Be sure to check out our website for links to past podcasts, and see our Facebook page and click Like to help our group.
To celebrate Spring and the return of the Andersonville Poetry Podcast, let's meetup for lunch at Reza's Restaurant 5255 N Clark Street from 1-2:30. At this time Reza's has a buffet, but the menu carries smaller plate appetizers for under 10 dollars. I am happy to buy you a glass of sangria.
We will read one or two poems about spring and discuss them. Then people are invited to share one of their own poems. If we have time we can do a free write from a prompt related to Andersonville, our lunch or spring. Bring your notebook, or write on a napkin. I carry extra pens. We can reorganize at the table according to what works for the us.
