What we're about

This meetup located in Perth, Western Australia for the local Perth Angular and AngularJS developer community. Our meetup focuses on learning about Angular (https://www.angular.io), sharing knowledge and networking with fellow Angularians. The group is open to people who are both new to Angular and seasoned Angularians.

Angular (https://www.angular.io) (commonly referred to as "Angular 2+" or "Angular v2 and above") is a TypeScript (https://www.typescriptlang.org/)-based open-source front-end web application platform (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_framework) led by the Angular Team at Google (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google) and by a community of individuals and corporations. Angular (https://www.angular.io) is a complete rewrite from the same team that built AngularJS (https://www.angularjs.org).

The proposed meeting format would be comprised of 2 talks: one on an introductory and one on an advanced topic plus couple quick (approx. 5-10 minutes) ad hoc talks offered by any member of any level of Angular skill attending on the night.

We'll be using https://angular-perth.uservoice.com/ to submit topic ideas and/or speakers and vote for your topic topics of interest.

As a newly formed group, we are looking for venues (with data projectors), sponsors for venues and the support of catering and speakers to volunteer to present on a topic or can volunteer a friend to present a topic related to Angular. Plus, you as members to support the goals and aims of the group. If you're interested in giving a talk, please send us a message with your talk title and description, level of difficulty and your contact details. Speakers of all levels and backgrounds are welcome.

We aim to hold the meetings on the first Monday of every month, but that will depend on the availability of meeting venues, so kept an eye on the details with each meeting.

Angular Workshop

State Library of Western Australia

This will be a hands-on workshop to help you learn Angular. We'll be running the workshops every 2 weeks. We'll be creating a simple app which will grow over time to a more involved app. Please bring along your laptop and follow the angular.io getting started guide to setup your development environment and IDE prior to your arrival. We'll be using the latest version of Angular (v7.2.3). If you have missed out on any of the previous workshops, you can catch up by getting the latest code from https://github.com/angularperth/workshop_2019 and play around with it. Please do an `npm update` or `npm install` in case the dependencies have changed. We're also looking for experienced Angular developers to come along and act as technical assistants. NOTE: We'll be holding the workshop at the State Libary in Studio 001 Creative Co-working Space on the first floor. The library is near Perth train station.
