Creating an AngularJS App from Development to Production

We are very excited to have Cary Landholt present again for this meetup. He will walk us through creating an AngularJS app from Development to Production.

Cary has spent a lot of time building Angular apps with Grunt.js, CoffeeScript, LESS, RequireJS, concatenation & minification, and unit testing. He has written several grunt plugins to support the build process. Besides the builds, he has spent considerable time on the developer workflow with rich client-side applications.

Cary is a 20-year IT veteran in industries such as manufacturing, finance, and healthcare and has focused on the web for the last 12 years. Currently he is responsible for a team developing the front-end framework for a new platform. As with many of us, after investigating numerous client-side frameworks, Cary selected Angular as their framework of choice.

You can find several of Cary's YouTube screencasts athttp://www.youtube.com/CaryLandholt.

Hi Cary, In Sublime Text, you have this nice fly-out panel (when you hover the maximize button on the title bar I believe) showing a grid that helps resize/position your window. What's the name of that plugin?

Thanks for your time and the awesome presentation!

Close to 45 people showed-up and it was very interactive between Cary and audience. Thank you Carry for doing this with a short notice.

Please send us your first name and last name (if your profile doesn't have it) by 3:00PM today 08\27 so that this list can go to building security.

Howdy attendees! Would you please do me a favor and send your first and last names to [masked] ? Building security likes to see a list of the people we're letting in. Kwadwo will be in the lobby to meet you and to point you in the right direction.

I'm a "seasoned" beginner. Would love some basics that aren't too basic. ;-) Like...how to properly use controllers, directives and services to create an app that follows MVC principles.

  • Al

Is there a possibility to get some one-on-one with one of "seasoned" AngularJS users?

    August 21, 2013

    • Joel K.

From another javascript meetup group in chicago, someone just said they have a startup called airpair.com that looks to be something like you are looking for. Not sure if they AngularJS guys as experts there yet.

lol Joel, i was just looking at that website :) Hopefully it'll work out, and looking forward to our next meetup.

This meetup is postponed to next week 8\28. Please update your RSVP.

If there are enough beginners, I'd say go ahead with the meetup, as there are enough moderate to advanced users to present some basic topics. Otherwise, if folks want more meaty topics, I think we should wait.
