June Meetup: Hacknight?

Welcome to the June Meetup!

We don't have a speaker in line for this meetup, so we're thinking of trying something a bit different : we'll spread out to all the conference rooms and kitchen, and hack on code for the night. Which code, you might ask?

- Could be your own sideproject, maybe you want to recruit people to work on it with you

- Could be some open source code you want to contribute to (like Angular-Agility, or the Ionic Framework, or maybe just re-structuring angular-phonecat)

- Could be a stand-alone website for AngularMN (if people would want that)

And perhaps we'll demo things at the end and award demo-ers our fabulous prizes! Who knows! Feel free to organize pre-meetup with folks if you'd like

6:30 - 7 Announcements & Lightning Talks (optional)

6:30 - 8:15 Eat, drink, code & chat

8:15 - 8:30 Prize drawing & wrap-up

We will release tickets next Wednesday the 14th at 2pm Central (UTC-0600)!

(FYI I'll be trying to always release tickets 3 weeks before the event, so you can mark your calendars on that as well!)

Thanks again for a great meet up. Real good opportunity to start my first ionic application and dive into some Angular!

Enjoyed the hack format although it was hard to choose between the groups. I think that's a good sign.

does not look like I'll be able to make it. Also bummed.

Good news - my laptop is mostly back in working order and I got permission from my lead dev to demo some of the things we've built for our current project. If anyone is interested, come find me and I'd be happy to share!

Wish I could made it to see some Angular projects in action. Have to go home to take care of a sick child.

For those of us that haven't been to the offices before. What's best place to park? I see a lot next door on Google Maps. Is that public / open to meetup attendees?

The spots in the lot should be fair game. I know for a fact the spots adjacent to the building are ours and are welcome for use, but 99% sure about the rest of it as well.

    • Joel M.

The entire parking lot surrounding our building is available for parking.

Under the weather and not going to make it, really bummed but excited to hear how it goes! Please direct feedback on how this could go better to me after the event, and hopefully we'll do it again soon :)

I'll be there with the many hours worth of work I have done with AngularFire...which I would say is maybe 15 minutes worth to the rest of you. However, if anyone likes/doesn't mind helping a very enthusiastic, hard working beginner try and get another few weeks of my work done in an hour or two I'll arrive with (or perhaps post) plenty of specific questions.

AngularAgility work sounds fun if people are interested. I have a big list of bugs and enhancements and I'm sure people could think of some other good features (or totally new things) as well!

argh, can't make it due to scheduling conflicts with kid's school...

Ihave a 15 min AngularJS slide show I put together for a class at UMN. I would be interested in having Angular experts take a look at it sometimes and give me some feedback. Phil

I'd love to work this for Ionic during the meetup. Waiting on response from the owner as to current status:

How about a discussion on v2.0 and the inclusion of Durandal? Not having attended before that may be a regular part of the meeting.

It looks like they are working on a rewrite of the router here:

They are using these docs as the basis:

I guess we'll see what happens and if there is still a need for ui-router as a project.

Unfortunately my laptop is out of commission at the moment so I wouldn't be able to bring anything with me to work on, but I'd be happy to work over someone's shoulder if they didn't mind.

For side work I've done a few small fixes / features for AngularStrap. Anyone else interested in doing something with that?

I'm just starting to get my feet wet with Angular and if it is a hackathon type meetup I'd love to mostly shadow someone working on a project and hear some insight into how they are working with Angular.

How about a Match 3 game similar to Bejeweled, since ng-Newsletter already has a tutorial on a 2048 clone in Angular.

      That sounds cool Chip!

Nooo. The one night I can't make it! Have fun everyone.

Nevermind, I switched my Twins tickets so now I can go. Woop.

I should note that I don't currently have an Angular side project. So if others want someone to jump on their project, let me know.
