Candlelight Vigil for Homeless Animals

National Homeless Animals’ Day

WHEN:Saturday August 18th starting at 7:45

WHERE: Orange County Animal Services located at 2769 Conroy Rd, Orlando

WHY: Join Orlando's candlelight vigil for homeless animals! Please bring your own candle. The event will include speakers, entertainment, & information on how YOU can help this epidemic.

Beautiful woven bracelets made by Olivia Gros will be for sale with proceeds benefiting Care Feline TNR, a nonprofit organization committed to reducing the population of community and abandoned cats in Orange County, Florida through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).

In 1992, ISAR introduced National Homeless Animals’ Day and Candlelight Vigils as an innovative educational vehicle with a purpose of informing society of an American tragedy that overwhelms animal shelters each year – pet overpopulation. Since the conception of National Homeless Animals’ Day, ISAR has reserved the third Saturday of August, commemorating the Day annually, to promote new campaigns, programs and ideas on the solution to the pet overpopulation epidemic: spay/neuter.

Now, because of the ever-growing, successful international participation in National Homeless Animals’ Day by foreign animal protection organizations, ISAR formally acknowledges this global participation by officially entitling our crusade as “International Homeless Animals’ Day.”

Organizations around world come together on the third Saturday of August to raise awareness about the pet overpopulation epidemic, INCLUDING ORLANDO!

We hope to see you there :)

Wonderful to meet new folks who want to get involved and help the animals! Thank you Olivia Gros, a young lady who came out and made beautiful bracelets and raised over $50 towards having feral cats spayed and neutered.

I will attend the vigil Saturday, August 1, 2012. Might I suggest that donations can be accepted the night of the vigil? Everyone who attends can bring a donation for the OCAS, or those who cannot attend can drop off a donation the night of the vigil? Just a suggestion.
