What draws you to an animal rights group? (answer as simply or as detailed as you like)
Standing up for animals
What, to you, is the biggest issue concerning animals?
Please list any specific types of demonstrations or activities you might be interested in and participate in, if hosted by this group? Thanks!
NOTE: We only require a "YES" RSVP if you plan to attend a gathering. Please don't RSVP "NO" to gatherings you don't plan to attend. "NO" RSVPs only create email for organizers. Only RSVP "NO" when you need to cancel a "YES". Make sense? Thanks!
~ Animals have their own voices, but few listen. Those of us who hear them, must help them to be heard. ~
This group organizes and promotes peaceful direct ACTion demonstrations.
Why peaceful direct ACTion? Because animals are suffering NOW! If you want to be a voice for the animals and our earth, and get ACTive through peaceful, public, grassroots action, this is the group for you. This is an action based group, beyond letter writing and making phone calls (though those actions are also good things to do, they will not be our main focus).
How we use and treat animals, from factory farms to wildlife, has an impact on us and our environment, besides the suffering caused to the most innocent among us who are entirely at our mercy.
Our activities are a great way to speak up for animals and our earth, and meet other nice folks. We are not a rescue group, but we will have contacts with rescue groups and will help as much as we can. Our signs and leaflets are READY! SET! Let's GO!
PEACE. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still BE CALM IN YOUR HEART.
"Deep down, we all just want to yell, especially when confronted with the enormity of the problem, but ultimately that just makes people turn away and close their ears. People listen to the substance of the message if they're able to get past the tone of the message. If the tone of the message is too strident or too didactic or too loud, people won't pay attention to the substance of it." ~ Moby
