The Animals’ Battalion, dedicated to advocating for justice for all animals, will be participating in Global Cat Day.

National Feral Cat Day was founded by Alley Cat Allies in 2001 to raise awareness about feral cats, promote Trap Neuter Return, spaying and neutering cats and to recognize the millions of compassionate people who care for them. Year after year, international participation grew because compassion knows no borders — National Feral Cat Day is now Global Cat Day.

At our outreach event, we will be focusing on educating the public on their responsibility to spay and neuter their cats, understanding more about community cats so they can live in peace in THEIR neighborhoods and because Astoria has been the location for cat violence and disappearances we will also be advocating respect and vigilance for these animals.

We will be joined by Astoria Cat Rescue, a local rescue group involved in feeding, TNR (trap, neuter, return), and adopting out rescued cats. WEATHER PERMITTING: some of their cats and kittens available for adoption will be there for you to meet.

Please join us for an event dedicated to helping a much beloved and equally misunderstood animal, the scrappy, beautiful feral cat.
