What we're about

The Ann Arbor Appropriate Technology Meetup is a group for anyone interested in learning about, designing and developing appropriate technical solutions to poverty. Everyone is welcome. Our Meetups feature updates on programs and technologies that are in design, opportunities for volunteer travel, and field updates from Guatemala. We are hosted by The Appropriate Technology Collaborative, a nonprofit that develops technologies and works with volunteers to create Opportunity by Design.

The Appropriate Technology Collaborative (ATC) designs, develops, demonstrates and distributes appropriate technological solutions that provide opportunity and dignity for the world's poorest people. ATC works in collaboration with our clients to create programs and technologies that are culturally sensitive, environmentally responsible and locally repairable in order to improve the quality of life, provide opportunity, and reduce adverse impacts on the environment.
