Hi everyone.

I have really enjoyed meeting several of our members at our various meet & greets over the past couple of weeks and look forward to meeting even more of you at our discussion of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "100 years of Solitude" this Saturday at 3pm. If you haven't RSVPd yet, please do so. Also please update your RSVP if your plans change- this is most helpful to me in keeping my records up-to-date.

Please note that I will be closing the poll for our June Selection this Friday at 5pm. So far 19 members have cast their vote. If no more votes are received, we will be reading D.H. Lawrence's "Lady Chatterly's Love" for our June selection.

NEW POLL OPEN
I have opened a new poll for our July Selection today. You will have up until the Friday before our May discussion to cast your vote. The selection choices are:

-The Vicar of Wakefield by Oliver Goldsmith
-Candide by Voltaire
-Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
-Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
-Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee
-Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
-On Beauty by Zadie Smith
-Choke by Chuck Palahniuk
-The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky
-Middlemarch by George Eliot

Feel free to nominate any books that you would like to read from our list of 1001 on the message boards. I would like to thank Laura M. and Mike for their feedback this past month. Thanks to Laura's suggestion of nominating the most popular book by the authors with the most novels on the list, we can now choose from Dickens's "Great Expectations", Coetzee's "Disgrace", and Woolf's "Mrs. Dalloway". Thanks to Mike's feedback, Eliot's "Middlemarch" is available.

I am linking to this week's book discussion meetup, in case anyone would like to RSVP or update their RSVPs.

Thanks,
Melissa
