New Meetup: Celebrating the Works of Kazuo Ishiguro

Announcing a new Meetup for Ann Arbor Classics Book Group!

What: Celebrating the Works of Kazuo Ishiguro

When: July 23,[masked]:30 PM

Dues: $1.00 per person

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Meetup Description: Come join us for our first ever author celebration event. We will be focusing on the works of contemporary author, Kazuo Ishiguro. In total, 5 of Ishiguro's works appear on our list of 1001. They are:

Never Let Me Go
Remains of the Day
The Unconsoled
Pale View of Hills
Artist of the Floating World

We will primarily be focusing on Never Let Me Go and Remains of the Day; however, if you are able to read the other 3 as well that will make the discussion even better! I have read 3 of Ishiguro's books and cannot wait to read the other 2!

In the future, I hope to have one author celebration event each quarter. I would prefer to choose authors who have between 3 and 6 books on the list and would be happy to accept nominations for an author who we can celebrate in the autumn.

This will be our second Thursday evening discussion. We will meet once per month on a Thursday to discuss a selection that either I choose for the group or a member nominates. We will also meet one Sunday afternoon per month to discuss the novel that we democratically decide upon as a group.

Our location is still TBD. I will let you know where the discussion will be held about one week in advance.
