"The Ann Arbor Shutterbugs is a group of photographers who are dedicated to building a foundation for the local photography community through networking, workshops, and events."
Our group is free to join and always will be! Anyone who loves photography is welcome regardless of their experience level. Our photography group is unique in that we have a leadership team who organizes most of the events, but we strongly encourage all of our members to participate in hosting events!
So be sure to join the group, sign up for an upcoming event, and remember that you can suggest, create, and host events too!
We are teaming up with a non-profit group called Detroit Passports to the Arts (DP2A) again. They would like a few of you to be the Hollywood in Detroit Paparazzi on the red carpet for their upcoming event at the Detroit Film Theater (DFT). If you are lucky enough to reserve a spot, you will be rewarded with free tickets to the event and after party in exchange for playing the paparazzi part as the other guests arrive on the red carpet. Names for free tickets will be submitted to DP2A and available at will call. We need you to have fun while taking pictures of guests as they arrive on the red carpet. Please be willing to share a few images for promotional purposes.
Dress code is business casual, but you may dress up like those walking the red carpet. You should arrive at the DFT by 5:30pm. The red carpet will open at 6:00pm. Films Begin at 7:30pm.

The Detroit Passport to the Arts (DP2A) is hosting a special night at the Detroit Film Theater, at the DIA. They are hosting a screening of the Oscar nominated short films, which includes both live action and animated movies ranging from about 5 to 20 minutes long and from hilarious to heart rending. It is a neat way to see a side of the Oscars that very few people ever experience. For a long time, this screening was only done at two theaters in the country and the DFT was one of them.
On top of that, DP2A is hosting a red carpet event (with paparazzi) where you can show off your best fashions before the show and a special party afterwards on the streets of old Detroit at the Detroit Historical Museum. The after party features live music, food catered by Holiday Market (so you know it will be awesome), and free beer and wine. All in all, it is a pretty awesome night out in Detroit.
If you don't make the list, you may still be able to purchase tickets for the event. Tickets can be purchased via this link.
