How long have you enjoyed photography? What got you into it?

Nine years. I love to photograph baby animals, and the birth of a litter of tiger cubs at a local zoo first prompted me to get outdoors and capture their young lives in stills. I also love to photograph landscapes, as well as flowers with my macro lens.

What kind of camera do you use, and what is your favorite lens?

Canon Digital Rebel T4i - Lenses: 60mm Macro is one of my favorites; I also use an 18 - 55 mm wide angle and a 300 mm telephoto lens. I also have an image stabilizing zoom lens that came with the T4i kit.

What type of photography do you most enjoy (e.g. portraiture, landscape, macro, street photography, nature, candid, etc.)?

Landscapes, animals, and plants

How would you like to improve your photography? What are your goals?

I would like to learn how to capture hummingbirds and other quick-winged critters with my shutter. I would also like to start capturing in black and white. The most recent goals I've accomplished are really important purchases that have had huge impacts on my work. One is a Manfrotto rotating ball head tripod, which is quite heavy, a quality that makes it more stable than the lighter tripods. A new camera with 18 megapixels has also helped me to capture scenes with finer detail and the capacity to develop larger prints. I'd also like to get into night sky photography.

How did you hear about our group?

Linked from Smug Mug.
