What we're about

Welcome to Annandale Toastmasters Club! Our meetup group connects people with common interests in learning and practicing skills to give quality presentations, run effective meetings, deliver speeches, and become competent leaders.

Thomas Jefferson High School

Theme: Discover the Difference Word of the Day: Xanadu Toastmasters will help you conquer your fear of public speaking by building, improving your communication and leadership skills, gain confidence, and reach your personal and professional goals. Through Toastmasters, you will learn how to organize, write, and deliver presentations with poise and confidence. You will practice by giving speeches to a supportive audience that want to help you improve through constructive feedback. Pathways is Toastmasters contemporary education program tailored to each member’s strengths, deficiencies, and interests. Through Pathways you can develop your skills in many different areas: - communication - management - strategic planning - leadership - service to others - public speaking At our April 4, 2019, meeting, we demonstrated how Pathways guides you from the beginning. It starts with your path selection. Then you continue with your online project lectures and speeches to learn, practice, and develop new skills. If you are an existing Pathways learner but have some questions, this workshop is for you. We will review common questions learners have as they navigate through their path from one project to the next and from one level to the next. We will highlight avoidable errors some learners and clubs make so you can avoid spending your time learning Pathways when you would rather spend your time learning new communication skills.
