  • WOW member Susan Veccia has graciously offered to open her home again for our HOLIDAY PARTY on December 14th.  Hope you can make it and of course, spouses, significant others, partners, writing buddies, etc. are invited, too.  Last year we had a record 28 people so a festive time is on tap for sure!

     Please mark your calendars and plan to attend -- "yes" that means YOU, the members who have joined WOW but have not yet joined us for the enjoyment, fun, and fellowship that seems to naturally flow when we get together.

    Writing Prompt (thanks Denise for the suggestion).  If you'd like, come with a 500 words or less essay or 2 poems that answer the question, "This I know ________".   Other forms of entertainment (Lee, music please) planned.  No expectation to read or perform; first-timers always welcomed. 

    Drinks, appetizers, yummy stuff . . .

    If your last name starts with

    A-F  Bring a protein/meat finger food such as BBQ wings, chilled shrimp, meatballs, crab dip, those teeny hot dogs floating in sauce, cheese platter, finger sandwiches, lamb skewers, OR an alcoholic beverage such as beer, wine, bourbon, rum swizzles.

    G-M  Bring a non-protein/meat appetizer such as hummus, crudite, olives, spinach dip, guacamole, sweet pickles, chips, focaccia, artichoke dip, OR non-alcoholic beverage such as Diet Coke, Perrier, Sprite, Tea, cider

    N-R  Bring something that can pass for "healthy" such as green salad, veggie tray, grilled peppers, quinoa, kale salad, deviled eggs, stuffed cherry tomatoes, nuts, raisins, fruit plate, stuffed dates

    S-Z Bring a dessert preferably finger food such as 2-bite brownies, mini cupcakes, sugar cookies, lemon squares, chocolate dipped strawberries. 

    Please refrain from bringing items that need kitchen preparation.  Everyone is expected to help tidy up, take home your dishes, etc.  Or as my mother would say, "leave the place as you found it."
