I'm happy to announce our Summer Meditation Retreat 2016! This retreat is completely free of charge, there is no cost. Basic vegetarian meals are included. You are also welcome to bring your own food if you prefer or if you have special dietary requirements. We do recommend trying our simple vegetarian meals if you are willing.
This retreat is provided by Wat Anoka Dhammaram and Meditation Center as a public service. It is open to both beginners as well as those with prior meditation/retreat experience. Everyone is welcome.
We will all be staying in tents during the retreat, with the exception of the monks, who stay in the temple's limited rooms. Please bring your own tent if possible. If you are unable to purchase a tent of your own, please contact us and we may have extras (very limited).
We have created a structured schedule for the retreat. We recommend trying to follow the schedule, as this will add to the experience. Although, this is not a strict rule, provided that you are not disruptive to other guests. If you want to eat the provided meals, you will have to attend at the times they are served.

As we want to remove ourselves from our worldly concerns as much as possible during the meditation retreat, phones or other electric devices are generally not permitted. Exceptions can be made for special situations. We recommend leaving your phone in the temple for the duration of the retreat (we will provide safe storage).
Also, in the event someone needs to reach you during the retreat due to any kind of emergency the temple phone number is available. We will also collect emergency contact information to ensure that we are able to reach someone on your behalf if an emergency situation occurs.
We will continue to update this description with new information as we approach the retreat, or to address any questions asked of us.
The start time listed (6:00 PM on 7/22) is approximate. You are welcome to arrive any time after 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Try to make sure you will have time to set up your tent prior to sunset. If you are unable to make the first day, you can also join us any day of the retreat at any time during waking hours. You may stay as many or as few days you like.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are generally willing to make any special accommodations that we can to ensure your retreat is a positive experience. You can reach us here on MeetUp or by email at [masked] . You can also call us at[masked]. You will have to log in to view the email address and phone number, as they are masked by Meetup.
Hope to see you there! And please make sure you RSVP so we know how many people to expect!
