Cross Country Skiing at Tea Cup on Mt. Hood

I'm dying to get up on the mountain and get in the snow. Do you like to cross country ski? Do you want to try it? It's pretty easy. Chinook Book has rental coupons. Cross Country Skiing is great exercise and super fun. Not that difficult once you get the hang of it. Portland REI has rentals available pretty reasonable. Meet at gateway transit center to carpool. Bring a lunch and eat in the nice warming hut at Tea Cup. The best way to go is drive to Hood River then head up Hwy 35 the back side of Hood until you reach the sign for Tea Cup on your left. Let's get up in the snow! They have been getting more snow this week, hopefully enough to groom, but not sure. This is a good early season training to get the legs in shape. If there is not enough snow. We can go for a hike. Forecast seems to be variable and unpredictable at this point. I think there will be snow, we will see. Tea Cup is free donations in box on site for grooming and hut. Ottos Ski Shop in Sandy has 2 for 1 rentals in Chinook Book. Meet at SE Corner of Gateway parking garage by the elevators. Eric,
Is the terrain relatively flat? I've done some cross country in Colorado but was just awful trying to go down even small hills on cross country skis.
    Thanks!
    Matt

There are some flat areas and hills too, you could stay off the hills pretty easy.
