Presented by Domenic Puzio, Capital One

    Abstract

The bigger the enterprise, the more complex it becomes to manage data dependencies among teams. This talk will zoom in on this problem in the cybersecurity domain and discuss how we've used NiFi to address these challenges at Capital One. NiFi manages our data flows for over thirty-five unique security data sources, each with its own transport and formatting, totaling over 5TB per day; within NiFi, the data is prepared for batch and stream processing. We will demonstrate our uses cases, show how we tackled our initial scalability hurdles, and discuss how Capital One has partnered with the Apache NiFi community.

    Bio

Domenic Puzio is a data engineer with Capital One. He likes building things with open-source tools, and he is a contributor to Apache NiFi and Apache Metron. His recent work focuses on integrating machine learning models with streaming data systems, as well as integrating buzzwords into bios.
