National Trails Day: Fort Braden Trail

This is a public event to Celebrate National Trails Day at the Fort Braden Trail. The event includes an interpretative hike, interesting trail & forest exhibits and trail maintenance overview. Enjoy watermelon after the hike.

Sign-up starts at 9:00 AM and hike starting thereafter. The Fort Braden Trail is located within Lake Talquin State Forest on the southern shore of Lake Talquin.

Dress for the weather and wear hiking shoes. Bring water, your medications, snacks, insect repellent and sun protection. More detailed information to be provided on our website, social media and Meetup.

If events are limited, some information may not be posted until closer to the event. Do not wait until the day of the event to request information as it may be too late to get back to you. The Florida National Scenic Trail and other forest trails are part of the natural environment. Rough, uneven, and/or slippery surfaces, protruding roots, encroaching vegetation, fallen branches, mud and water, insects and other wildlife, irritating plants and other hazards may be present. Be prepared for the weather, insects and sun protection. If you question whether a hike is within your ability, contact the Activity Leader.
