CHAPTER PROGRAM - CAMINO DE SANTIAGO –Members John and Dawn Griffin will share their most recent journey hiking the Camino de Santiago from Astorga to Santiago, Spain. The Camino Frances, commonly known as The Way of St James, leads pilgrims to the shrine of the apostle St James in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried. In lieu of completing the Camino in one trip consisting of at least 40 continuous days of hiking, they chose to savor the experience and divide the Camino into three stages. The first stage of their journey was from St Jean Pied de Port in France over the Pyrenees to Burgos Spain in June 2016. Their second stage was from Burgos to Astorga in May 2018, and their last segment was from Astogia to Santiago in May 2019 - completing all 500 miles on foot.
