A presentation followed by a panel discussion with Laetitia Vitaud (https://laetitiavitaud.com/), renowned writer and speaker about the future of work.
More specifically, the event will focus on the themes from Laetitia’s latest book, entitled “Du Labeur à L’ouvrage” (from Labour to Work), which deals with the rise of craftmanship or, more broadly, the shift away from fixed employment to a more flexible world of freelancing and crafts.
While on the one hand, this future is much more optimistic than the dystopian view that machines will automate away people’s livelihoods, it still poses urgent challenges in how we re-define business strategy, management, the work space and how we build new institutions that rebundle the social protection that is associated with traditional employment, in a way that’s empowering the autonomy and creativity of the new worker-artisans.
