iPhone and Smartphone Developers and Publishers Meetup

  • Mar 31, 2009 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is no longer available

Purpose: To bring together developers and publishers of Iphone/smartphone services

Developers: this event will help you showcase your ideas, find interesting work and swap notes with other developers.

Content publishers: this event will introduce you to the programmers who can make your content come alive on the iPhone and other smartphone devices.

It’s hoped that both content and tech folk will gain a fuller understanding of each other’s needs. Our first few meetings will be in small and informal settings, so much the better to have the one-to-one chats that lead to paid work and finished products all round!

Invited to attend:
- Content publishers – print and online (book publishers, newspaper and magazines publishers, games, web publishers etc)

- Software developers – individuals or agencies

- Phone manufacturers and operators

- Angel investors and VCs

- Associated professional services e.g. SEO and advertising

- Anyone with a commercial or organizational interest in the iPhone and other smartphones

Entrance is free, in the best traditions of Meetup.com and boot-strapping start-ups!

Just like to thank both Jason and Craig for making the event such a success and it has a lot to do with them being very hospitable, friendly and warm. All the right ingredients for good hosts of a fantastic evening.

The venue was ideal too, easy to get to by tube and a lovely and cosy setting with drinks at the bar. May be good to have some nice finger food as really hungry by the about 8pm. Wouldn't find contributing a few quid towards each meeting for that if everyone else is game too. Best ,

    Ken

At last. It's what London needed for the last year.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and content and I met some interesting people I wouldn't have met at other networking events I either go to or run myself. It was good to hear things from a different perspective in a more intimate homely setting.

This was the first iPhone and Smartphone Developers and Publishers Meetup and it went wonderfully well.
The audience were interested, friendly, engaged, open, generous and knowledgable.
The speakers were thought-provoking, informative and highly capable.
The venue was a great choice, with the finest pint of bitter in all London (I say that with all the gravity such a proclamation deserves).
Top marks to Jason for putting together the first of what will surely be a series of succesful iPhone and Smartphone evenings in London.

This was a great start to what is hopefully a long running series of meetups. There were 3 excellent talks, and then an hour or 2 of talking between the attendees.

The was a good mix of professions there, from programmers to VCs to the enigmatic ideas man.
