This was my first hike with this group. Bijal does a great job and the group was very friendly.

Bijal's hikes are always wonderful. Lots of new people on this one and we lucked out, I think with the beautiful weather.

People, thank you so very much for joining Valley Forge Monthly hike. It turned out to be a really decent day for hiking with sunny day, no rain, low humidity, and cooler temperatures. We did the usual monthly hike and hiked 11.8 miles in little over four hours. Out moving speed was well over 3.0/mph and we did 1500+ feet in total elevation gain. We had 27 people on the hike. Sharon, thank you so very much for sweeping. Good times at Valley Forge Pizza (which now serves draft beer) where Eight joined us. See you all on a future hike - Bijal

Pam, there is a limit on the group size because if there are too many people on the hike, then it becomes very difficult keeping track of and being responsible for every hiker. There are exceptions: Bijal has let people whom he has hiked with and assessed their skill level attend a full hike. If you are on the outside looking in, you might want to call Bijal and convince him to let you in. You should be a strong hiker though....no beginner/out-of-shape hikers. I don't speak for Bijal, but this is my assessment from my years hiking with him.

Violet, the meeting point is in the event description. The group will be in the parking lot on the hill. You can't miss us. We will be a group of 20-30 people.

A Hammer does not avoid a challenge; a Hammer crushes them.

Miss "The Hiking Godfather's" hike?? You must be joking!

This speed and mileage is in the heading, 4C11-12. That means approximately 4 mph, any distance of 11 to 12 miles. We do typically take a short break for those who want a food break, but otherwise the hike takes approximately 3-4 hours depending on who is hiking.
