Thursday Evening Hike @ Valley Forge (3C6)

Our return to VFNP from mid-Spring to mid-Summer! Please join us for a fast-paced six-mile evening hike at Valley Forge National Park. Meet at Washington's HQ parking lot. Please be there at 6.15 pm. Heels up 6.30 pm. Please be on time. Optional refreshment stop afterwards. Well behaved, people friendly dogs on a leash allowed.

This hike is scheduled for 6.15 pm every Thursday, it would be very helpful if everyone can get there by 6.15 pm. That way we can start signing everyone up. Initially, We will most likely split up the group on the way back so that faster hikers can do a bit more.

This hike is about 6 miles long with rolling hills and couple of climbs. you will need sturdy shoes and water. Please click the link below for directions to Washington's HQ parking area at Valley Forge.

People, thank you so very much for joining the Thursday evening hike. It was a Sunny and a very pleasant evening. We did Mt. Misery from two sides along with the park boundary trail. We did 4.8 miles and 945 feet of total up elevation at an average moving speed of 3.4/mph and overall speed of 3.1/mph including all the stops. We had 36 participants for the hike. Al, thank you for sweeping. We had nine people at Rock Bottom – on a rare Thursday when we do not have a round table, we really miss it! Great times anyways – it seems that some kind of complicated hike requiring serious screening is in the “brewing” later this month by couple of our fellow hikers! James, it would be good to see you back on Thursdays. Have a terrific weekend everyone. See you next Thursday. – Bijal
