Thursday Evening Hike @ Valley Forge (3C6)

Our return to VFNP from mid-Spring to mid-Summer! Please join us for a fast-paced six-mile evening hike at Valley Forge National Park. Meet at Washington's HQ parking lot. Please be there at 6.15 pm. Heels up 6.30 pm. Please be on time. Optional refreshment stop afterwards. Well behaved, people friendly dogs on a leash allowed.

This hike is scheduled for 6.15 pm every Thursday, it would be very helpful if everyone can get there by 6.15 pm. That way we can start signing everyone up. Initially, We will most likely split up the group on the way back so that faster hikers can do a bit more.

This hike is about 6 miles long with rolling hills and couple of climbs. you will need sturdy shoes and water. Please click the link below for directions to Washington's HQ parking area at Valley Forge.

People, thank you so very much for joining the Thursday evening hike. Problems with traffic! It took me 47 minutes to get to Washington’s HQ compared to 9 minutes it normally takes! Route 23 was totally backed up. I got there really late so did many others. We finally started the hike at 7.04 pm. My sincere apologies to those who were still stuck on Rt. 23 when we started, however, at some point we had to get a hike in before it got dark. Fifteen people made it by the time we started the hike. We did a short hike with both Mt. Misery from Wolfinger and Mt. Joy straight up. We did about 5.0 miles and 900 feet of total up elevation in one hour and 36 minutes. We had 13 people at Rock Bottom – great times and more information than I could ever imagine about various coffee making apparatus! Dave, thank you for sweeping. See you all next week. - Bijal
