Guest facilitator for this meetup will be Kent Dobson. Find out more about him at kentdobson.com
This meetup will facilitate the engagement with archetypes in the natural world through experiential practice. Some concepts will be briefly presented and since everyone resonates with different types of practices, various practices (such as medicine walks, dream work, or somatic exercises) will be introduced along with the concepts.
This will be followed by an invitation to engage in one or more of these during a period of experiential practice, either in solitude or with a partner. While some practices will be suggested, you are of course also free to engage in a practice of your own if you prefer.
Finally, we will close with a “talking-stick” council session for mirroring and processing of the experience. Everyone will have a chance to hold the “talking-stick” and will be welcome to share about their experience, if they feel comfortable in doing so, and these sacred stories will be honored (there is no requirement to share, and the presence of sacred silence will be deeply honored).
What to bring
Hopefully the weather will be playing nicely, but this is Michigan after all. Be sure to check the forecast and dress appropriately in layers. The terrain is diverse but mostly easy – plenty of paths (grass, paved, and forest), but be sure to wear sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting earthy. If desired, bring a blanket or camping chair for the council portion of the meetup. Be sure to bring plenty of water. You are also welcome to bring other personal items, such as a journal, sage, or a drum.
