The Taylor Cabin Loop is a great loop hike through the remote redrock canyons of the Sycamore Canyon and Red Rock-Secret Mountain Wildernesses. We will be using a combination of trails including the Dogie Trail, the Taylor Cabin Trail, and the Casner Mountain Trail. The return trail of the loop across the top of Casner Mountain offers unparalleled views of Sycamore Canyon. With the nice and cool temperatures in the fall, this will be a great time of year to check out this area!
We will get together Friday evening and head on up to the general area of the trailhead and do some dispersed camping Friday night. Saturday we will head out on the Dogie Trail until it links up with the Taylor Cabin trail. We will most likely camp near or on Buck Ridge Saturday evening. That will leave us the Casner Mountain Trail segment for Sunday.
