The Mace 23rd Annual Outing

Join me for this 23nd annual event of climbing The Mace 5.9+ in Sedona. This is a classic climb that you must have on your bucket list.  AMC members only with current membership card, and you must have 5.9 climbing experience and be approved by me.

    Frank, howdie. Can you share an example of something that we should have climbed prior to the Mace to gauge our ability for the Mace? I've done 5.9s before but it is definitely at my current limit.

      Hey Bryan. frank can tell you from an experienced perspective. From a beginners perspective.... I did this last year. At that time I was working on 5.10 in the gym and leading[masked] range outside. The mace was extremely challenging for me because it's off width and chimney climbing which, as you know, is a different animal than face/indoor rock climbing. If you have some experience eeking your way up off width then go for it! If this is your first off width.... get ready for a challenge!
