The Refuge: Dog Town - Official AMC Outing

David McClintic and I are hosting a climbing meet-up at the Refuge (Lower Devil's Canyon Area; Upper Hackberry Creek). The day will consist of single pitch climbing at an area that Arjun and I call Dog Town.

What to Bring? Bring standard gear for leading or top-roping (helmet, harness, locking biners, shoes, rack if you want to lead trad, draws, food, water, etc.).

Note: Dog Town is East-SE facing so it is warm in the morning. It gets shade around 1 pm (or so) this time of year. Be prepared for warm and cool (cold?) conditions.

We will need to car pool into the Refuge: 4WD vehicle required.

We may go for dinner in Superior following a wonderful day of climbing!

David ~ I did not see this original Meetup for some reason. Can't join you on this one, as I have torn a hamstring that will take awhile to mend. But I'll be ready for your next outing.

I guess It would be worth noting that:
    1) The approach to Dog Town is easy; perhaps 10-12 minutes from the vehicle,
    2) The grades range from 5.6 (Trad) to 5.10- (or so)
    3) We may need (or want) to move across the Valley (in the early afternoon) to stay in the sun. There is lots of climbing at the Refuge. Dog Town represents only one of five areas there.
    4) It will be great fun!

hey everyone! I am still recovering from 3 metatarsal stress fractures. I have just been allowed to hike on "trails" for two weeks now. I will hike in as far as I can and enjoy being out and seeing you guys. :)
