Let's go camping! This is a group for people with RVs/campers that like to camp with others. Small to mid-size rigs with higher clearance and off-road capability are highly recommended. Most events will be at primitive camping sites (no hook-ups, no public toilets/showers, no reservations/fees). This type of camping requires flexibility, as GPS coordinates may change due to site availability. Meetup times show when event hosts plan to arrive. Members always need to provide their own shelter, water, food, alcohol, and entertainment. This group is also for members 21 years and older. Let's go enjoy the great outdoors!
GENERAL RULES: Include a profile pic of yourself so we’ll be able to put a face to the name. We also take the RSVPs seriously since we go to a lot of effort to find a great spot to accommodate the correct number of rigs. We ask that you update your RSVP no later than the Sunday prior to the event in order to give those waitlisted enough time to prepare. Inactive members are removed after 3-6 months, as are no-shows. All liability lies with the individual camper that shows up at each event.
We will text GPS coordinates and simple directions to all attendees once we arrive at the campsite. We also post bright yellow AZ/DC signs to help guide you there. Please note the importance of communicating via text message as the meetup messaging system has many times proven troublesome - often there is poor cell service at the campsite and it is much easier to send/receive texts than to keep trying to connect to the website to retrieve messages. Be sure to message us with your phone number.
Generator hours are 2p-4p for recharging batteries or whatever. We've had several people try to push back on this, but we prefer the sounds of nature over listening to artificial noise intermittently throughout the day. Please keep this in mind if you are tied to using a coffee maker, microwave, or any other device; if you must use a generator, this group is simply not going to be a good fit for you.
Dogs & Firewood - We have a lot of dogs at these events and they are off leash. Your dog must be dog-friendly, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated. If they bark excessively, you'll definitely need to bring a bark collar. Lastly, each member is expected to bring plenty of firewood. When campfire restrictions are in effect, we'll bring propane fire pits; and those that don't have one can help supply propane. Your contribution to the campfire is the only thing we ask you to bring, other than a good mood - so gear up and let's go!
