Thanks so much for taking the time to research this. This is a very important topic. I read about the security issues when I was first learning WordPress and was new to setting up databases. I didn't modify anything but the security name and very much appreciate the chance to revisit the topic. I'm hoping that at the meeting you might provide some guidance to us all how to modify database, appropriate host files to address security issues.

I did set up Akismet. I knew about it because it was a default plug-in provided by default by the TwentyTen theme, which is what I initially experimented with. I haven't used BackupBuddy because I wanted to learn how to do it manually first so I could understand the process.

You did list a lot of plug-ins that left me thinking this survey was probably better answered by people with more experience than myself.

Security is a great topic and I look forward to a discussion. The confusion or lack of responses might also be useful in informing the direction of discussion. The survey had plug-ins that fell into different categories; i.e., spam filters, maintenance, etc. Maybe it would be useful to quickly discuss what different categories of security plug-ins are available and what people should set up as a minimum. Further discussion could involve people's experience with each of the tools.

Thanks so much for your efforts. Loved the use of Survey Monkey.
