Humpday Paddle at Saguaro Lake - June 15th

The Saguaro Lake paddle is on for Wednesday, 6/15. Come play hookie with us. We will leave Butcher Jones beach at 8:00AM. The lake is much more peaceful on a weekday, increasing the odds of wildlife encounters. Possible critters include javelina, chupacabra, coyotes, bald eagles and osprey. Last year we got very close to a family of desert bighorn sheep in one of the canyons. Destinations include Shiprock, Snaggletooth, the Meadows reed beds, Skunk Wash and Willow Springs Cove.

This is a trip for all skill level paddlers, however it will require some stamina on your part. Round trip is approximately 8 to 10 miles. You are welcome to cut your paddle short at any time and return to the launch site, however, you must be accompanied by a buddy. Nobody paddles alone.

Bring sunscreen, camera, lunch or snacks, a life jacket, hat and plenty of water. As with all the trips I host, you are responsible for your own safety and are required to wear a PFD or carry one in your boat.

Please arrive well before 8:00, as we will be on the water and gone by 8:15.

You will need a $6 Tonto pass to pass your vehicle.

Here are some maps of the area:
