Spring Paddle, Twin Lakes, WI

Sand Bar and Grill

1) This paddle event has been moved to an earlier time. The reason for this is that there will be power boats on this lake, and this will affect water conditions, above and beyond weather influences. You boat at your own risk. For your own safety: Wear a PFD at all times.

2) The venue for launching (optional; please see that there are also launches available via park accesses on both of the lakes) is the Sand Bar & Grill. There is a power boat launch at this location HOWEVER: Kayaks should use their beach to launch. When you arrive; un-rack your kayak and place it on the grass along the fence. Then, move your vehicle to the parking lot across the street.

3) Sand Bar & Grill has a terrific menu; but its seating is still primarily indoors (they are building an outdoor extension area). It is highly unlikely that all who paddle on this day will be able to be seated together at this venue. Twin Lakes does have other restaurants; you can also opt to picnic at a park near the lake.

4) There is no boat rental on the premises. If you do not have your own boat, you will have to find a rental outfitter elsewhere, or borrow a boat. There may be people in the group that can lend you equipment.

5) Be sure to review the information regarding use of the lakes per Wisconsin DNR:

Village of Twin Lakes Park info:

6) When they were drawing the statelines...someone probably dithered about how Lake Elizabeth would have some acreage in Illinois. This is a peaceful, beautiful part of the lake on the south end:

Expect a postponement if lightning or high winds are in the weather forecast for this day.

LASTLY: If your name appears on "wait list" status, you can ignore that. That's just a function of Meetup.
