Insight, or vipassana meditation cultivates our natural wisdom and compassion. Meditation practice develops concentration, which allows us to calm and steady the mind, and free the heart.
Newcomers to meditation and long-time practitioners are welcome to attend this class on a drop-in basis. No registration is necessary. Chairs are always provided or you may bring your sitting gear. The format is a 30-minute guided meditation starting at 7:00 PM, followed by a dharma talk and time for questions, concluding around 8:15 PM. People usually stay afterwards and socialize.
In the spirit of dana (generosity), these teachings are priceless and therefore are freely offered-- with no charge. If people are so inspired, they may practice dana themselves in appreciation of the teachings – contributions support the teacher and studio rental.
