Join us for dinner and discussion with Erica Green! She will talk about her career in the publishing industry and take questions. She'll also discuss the Iceland Writer's Retreat, a series of workshops and panels led by an esteemed team of international writers.
ERICA JACOBS GREEN has spent the last decade traveling the world, raising babes, and making books. Raised in southern California, she’s recently lived in Northern Ireland, Turkey, Russia, and now Iceland. Currently she’s a freelance writer and editor and is the co-founder of Iceland Writers Retreat and the children’s book production company, Ever After Studio. Erica has worked in the publishing industry for nearly twenty years. Highlights of her career include her role as the Director of Publishing at Discovery Communications (Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Discovery Health) and the Children’s Book Editor at Chronicle Books. She’s worked with a diverse array of brands and authors from Williams Sonoma to LucasFilm, and from Dr. Oz to Jane Goodall.
Erica’s award winning blog, Navigating Wonderland, explores issues related to motherhood, parenting, travel, and lots of good stuff about the best things to do in Iceland. When she’s not working on freelance writing or editing projects for big publishing conglomerates, corporate clients, and small presses, she’s writing and revising her novel—you know, the first one she’s been dreaming about publishing for years. She divides her time between Reykjavik, Iceland, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC.
About the Iceland Writers Retreat: April 9-13, 2014 in Reykjavik. We invite published and aspiring book writers in the fields of both fiction and non-fiction to participate in a series of workshops and panels led by an esteemed team of international writers (Susan Orlean, Geraldine Brooks & more!). Between intimate workshops and lectures, we’ll offer the chance to tour the spectacular Golden Circle, sit in the cozy cafés of Reykjavik, soak in hot geothermal pools, listen to new Icelandic music, and learn about the country’s rich literary tradition.
