Armchair to Adventurer Dorset is open to everyone and all abilities. I have started this group to help you get inspired and show you the adventures that are right on your doorstep. I will offer group sessions starting from fitness classes on Swanage beach right through to weekend adventures including kayaking hiking and mountain biking.

I have started a Facebook page of the same name ArmchairtoadventurerDorset (https://www.facebook.com/A2ADORSET/) allowing you to join in virtually on my workouts and challenges to improve your fitness to then allow you to join in on the bigger adventures. You can share your stories your goals and your dreams of adventure.

From experiencing the harder side of life I can offer experience and understanding to all of your struggles bringing you all together to head out and enjoy all things adventure in Dorset and beyond.

Swanage Banjo pier to Old harrys rock night walk circular.

The Banjo Pier


Starting from Swanage banjo pier we will meet at 18.45pm under the clock . Here you will receive a head torch and a briefing on the evenings walk. The plan of the evening will be to head along the beach with high tide at 12.30pm giving us plenty of time to walk down to the edge of Ballards cliff. From here will we head into a secret walk heading up the cliff to the top of Ballards down and along to old harry's. Once you have had time to take in the dark sights we can head back down into swanage arriving around 9.15pm. You will need to bring suitable footwear and clothing for the conditions and walking sticks if you need them. I will provide a guide (me) and head torches for those who don't have one. Jurassic coast multi activity adventure weekend and Bell tent camping experience

The Jurassic coast is ready and waiting for you this may. Come and Join us to experience the history and the adventure that is waiting for you. With so many amazing adventures to be had in Dorset I have put together a few of my favorites for you to come and experience with me over a weekend . All the hard work has been done so you can arrive relaxed and ready to have a fun weekend. On arrival Friday evening you will be met by a camp fire and chilli to enjoy and meet your fellow adventurers. Our campsite has full faciliites including hot showers and toilets. Glamping tents will be supplied with blow up beds with both single and doubles available. Please bring your own bedding sleeping bags and pillows. Saturday moring will start with breakfast of either cereals or bacon rolls to give you the energy to head down to Swanage at 9 am and walk the Jurassisc coastline from Swanage to Durlston castle and on to Danacing ledge. This part of the coastline has breathtaking views along with caves and mines carved out from the victorian hunt for purbeck stone to send back to London. During the walk you will get to see guilliemots around Durlston head. Potentially the sighting of dolphins during this time of year is possible. This walk is between 12-15km and requires walking boots . If you need sticks please bring thwm along. Once returning to Swanage you will have time to grab some lunch before heading back to the camp site for an afternoon of Bushcraft skills and Axe throwing. Our bushcraft skillls will include fire lighting and building techniques. The use of axes and knives and bread making over the fire. Once finished we will head over to our purpose built Axe throwing alley to take on the challenge of hitting the bulls eye. Saturday evening is bbq night as every good camp needs bbq food along with a fire pit in the evening where we can sit around regaling the adventures of the day. Sunday Morning we will head off to Bramble bush bay and poole harbour to be on the water for 10am for a kayaking adventure. Depending on the conditions we will either head into Poole harbour or start in Studland bay and head out to Old harry rocks . This trip is 10km so you will need a resonable level of fitness. You will recieve on shore coaching and will be supplied Buoyancy aid, Paddle, Dry bag and a kayak . H2oadventures will be your guide for the day with a qualified British canoeing guide. Your adventure will finish on return to the campsite around 3pm. With the Bank holiday why not make another night of it and head down to the beach on monday making the most of the Bank holiday weekend. Please get in contact if you wish to extend your stay by 1 night. Included in your weekend is Glamping 2 nights, Evening meal 2 nights , Breakfast Mornings, Walking trip , Kayaking trip , Bushcraft and Axe throwing session. Sea kayaking adventure day



H2oadventures has a great passion for all things sea kayaking and being based on the Jurassic coast its the perfect location for you to come and explore the coastline under the guidance of a qualified British canoeing sea kayak leader. You will find me exploring the wonders of the Jurassic coast from Studland all the way to Ringstead with many beaches to launch from the adventures never end. We want you to join us and share in our passion. ​Our Sea kayaking adventures are a full day of exploring from Swanage beach or Studland beach dependent on the tides and group ability. You will get to kayak around and through the UNESCO world heritage site of Old Harry Rocks with all its history and fabled tales. Kayak into the caves which are found at the waters edge carved into the rocks of Ballards point . During your trip you will learn many new skills while out on the water with our qualified coaches on hand. ​Our kayak fleet are 13ft Venture islay touring kayaks which are perfect for the shorter sea kayaking trips with comfy seats and outfitting making for a nice on the bum experience and getting to experience real kayaking instead of the sit on top kayaks. You will get to learn more skills on controlling a sit in kayak having more fun in the waves. With 8 kayaks you can bring all your friends and family along to enjoy the experience with you. Minimum age to participate is 16 years old. ​With a full day of exploring there will be time to stop off either in Swanage for lunch or on the beach at Studland both offering a selection of food and drink. You will be notified on the meeting point on booking . Swanage beach meeting point is North beach Swanage BH19 1LH. Studland beach launch is Bramble bush bay studland just before the Studland ferry. Prior Experience in a kayak is necessary. If you are unsure please get in touch . Wareham to Brownsea island kayak challenge 30km

£70pp Meet at Wareham quay on June 2nd at the public slipway for 9am for a safety briefing and equipment check. once on the water we will head along the River Frome weaving our way through the bull rushes and sailing clubs before heading into the head of Poole Harbour . Making our way past the nature reserve of Arne with its abundance of land and sea wildlife . our target of Brownsea island will rise in the distance to guide us in. Brownsea island will be our half way in the challenge as we navigate around the island then head back up the Harbour to Wareham Quay for a celebration drink and to regale our achievements of the day. This is by no means an easy challenge and previous experience of using kayaks and fitness to complete 30km of kayaking . This trip can take over 6-7 hours dependant of the groups ability. H2oadventures will provide kayak hire, Paddle, Buoyancy aid , Dry bag for the trip. You will need to bring minimum 4 ltrs of water along with food for the day.
