Meditation Group
Have you had your 10 a day? Ten minutes of meditation every day can make a huge difference to our lives. We become more spacious and open-hearted, discovering joy and equanimity through the ordinary ups and downs of life. Meditation can become life-as-practice. This weekly meditation group is open to anyone who wishes to meditate ( You are welcome to join the group whether you have no experience of meditation, or have an established sitting practice. It is always supportive to meditate with other practitioners and helps us maintain our meditation practice. Attend regularly or occasionally - you will always be welcomed. The group is led by two ordained practitioners: Nor’dzin Pamo and ’ö-Dzin Tridral - a married couple with over 30 years of meditation experience. The hour and a half session will be broken up into several short periods of practice and will include silent sitting, yogic song (, and some brief teaching. Occasionally an introduction to other aspects of practice may be offered such as a demonstration of Tibetan yoga and practice-related craft. Chairs and cushions are provided for sitting. Please wear comfortable clothing. A donation is requested of £3.00 per evening. For enquiries: email: [masked] call:[masked] text:[masked]

What we're about

The Aro gTér Lineage is a Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhist tradition concerned with transforming our experience of everyday being. In the Nyingma School, practising as a householder, using everyday life as the focus of practice, is seen as to be as valuable as the monastic approach. Our teachers are not monks or nuns, but ordained Tantrikas who live quite ordinary lives in an extraordinary manner. An important aspect of this approach is relationship – couples living in harmony, and raising children in a supportive, nourishing environment.

The Aro gTér teachings come to us from a lineage of enlightened women, including a female Tantric Buddha, Yeshé Tsogyel, and the visionary Lama, Aro Lingma. The Vajrayana path is suited to those who appreciate humour and seek to use their everyday circumstances as the path to realisation. Aro gTér Lineage practitioners aim to engender natural gallantry and sincere determination, perceptive consideration and cheerful courage, creativity and spaciousness. The Vajrayana path is suited to those who appreciate humour and seek to use their everyday circumstances as the path to realisation.

All classes and groups are led by ordained Buddhist practitioners with many years of practice experience.

Aro Ling Cardiff offers weekly meetups for meditation, song and chant, plus regular weekend retreats. The weekend events are usually on the first weekend of the month and include a day of Buddhist teachings on the Saturday, plus practice sessions on the Sunday – attend one or all. A donation is requested for meetups – around £5 for a 1/1½ hour session, and £25 for a day session.
