No Shirt, No Shoes…No Problem in Caye Caulker, Belize!
There is a LOT of info here - please read all way to the end - Escape the traffic of Texas and head to the beautiful island of Caye Caulker off the coast of Belize where there are no cars, no fumes, and no hassles, just balmy breezes, fresh seafood, azure waters and a fantastic barrier reef. The vibe on this rustic island is completely laid back and relaxed in true “island life” fashion. Enjoy a Vacation and Diving Excursion June 1st to June 10th. Don’t forget to update your passport! The island is an ideal base for snorkeling and diving adventures at the nearby reef. The northern part of the island – a tempting destination for kayakers – is mostly mangroves, which are home to an amazing variety of birdlife. You can also enjoy fly fishing, and windsurfing. And don’t forget to schedule in plenty of time for swinging in a hammock and enjoying the breeze (which is indeed a legitimate activity on Caye Caulker.) There is a bit of a mild night life scene on Caye Caulker, but in general peace and quiet reign supreme. Relax on the docks at night, staring at the innumerable stars and listening to the ocean gently lapping against the moored boats while sipping rum punches and remember to go slow. It’s the motto of Caye Caulker, and you should keep it in mind. Go slow and enjoy yourself. You are in paradise! There are numerous places to stay on the island - as low as $37/night (not per person). Get with Richard for specifics on accommodations. The food here is great! I definitely recommend trying out Koko King, which is located on the North Side of the island, for both dining and a fun beach day! Also Rainbow Bar&Grill is an island favorite to eat, as well as Bondi Bar and many others. There are many snorkel adventures you can go on, as well as activities such as sunset tubing around the island, or watersports. If you opt for an evening out, there are usually fun activities going on at the Sports Bar, such as trivia nights, live bands and karaoke.
