Intuitive Painting Workshop- Dec.8th PWYC- *2 spots left
**Please read Registration Info to save a spot** Intuitive Painting Workshop led by expressive arts therapist Natasha Sudenis The purpose of adding an LGBTQ+ allies only workshop to my offerings is because I believe that its important to carve out these nurturing spaces for the community. It is not meant to be divisive, but rather offers a creative, therapeutic, and social networking outlet that is community specific and resilience focused. I believe Toronto needs more of this so I created my own. Im working on creating a permanent program at the 519, but in the meantime, studio space is difficult to find in Toronto, let alone queer art space. So for now I am holding these at the lucsculpture studio on the east end. You have always wanted to try painting but felt too intimidated. You can't seem to find time to do something just for yourself You are creatively blocked. You enjoy the creative flow and energy of painting in a group You need a little guidance into the painting process You want to de-stress, and relax your mind. You want to try something new You are an artist and want to shake things up ~~~~~Who can attend a workshop? Anyone above the age of 16 ! ~~~~ "What is intuitive painting?": Intuitive painting is letting go of having a plan or doing what we think we ought to. It means grabbing the brush and following your body, your senses, a feeling or question, and allowing for something to emerge. It helps us quiet down the inner critic and listen more carefully to our own wisdom. Through this process we can better learn how to practice SELF COMPASSION, PRESENCE, and CONNECTION to ourselves and others. ~~~"Do I have to talk about my art?" Nope! We will have the opportunity for discussion and sharing but this is totally optional. You may wish to use this time to keep to yourself or observe. ~~~~What is the structure of the workshop? I will lead you through some expressive arts warmups. These will vary from group to group but generally they will consist of body based warmups and exploration, visualizations, and drawing directives. This will be a safe and supportive environment and I will be there to answer any questions or concerns along the way. We will have a short break to socialize or snack, then we will continue painting until our closing activity and closing circle. ~~~~Philosophy: Everyone is inherently creative and can make art, no matter what age, skill level, or physical ability. ACCESIBILITY: There are about 5 steps to get to the main studio space. Unfortunately not wheelchair accessible, but I'm working hard to find a space that is accessible.

~~~~~~~Do I have to have any art experience?
Absolutely not! I work from a low skill , high sensativity model. Meaning that I focus on the process of creating rather than a finished product. While we can often create meaningful and beautiful work, the purpose of these groups is not to teach a technical skill.
