Lets explore Randsburg Mining District. The district consists of 4 ghost towns: Atolia, Red Mountain, Johannesburg, and Randsburg.

First we will visit Atolia. Atolia used to be the richest tungsten mine in the world. Today Atolia has no residents and is open topublic.
After Atolia we will visit Red Mountain and Kelly Silver Mine. Red Mountain had a nickname "Sin City" . It was famous for its entertainment, Bars, and Brothels. One could get a drink in every business here except the post office even during the times of prohibition.
Kelly's Silver mine was the most impressive silver mine in the country. They produced 7 millions of ore in their first year of operation. Today, Kelly Silver mine is behind the fence with signs" Danger Arsenic" There are still a few people who live on this mountain.
Johannesburg, is the next town we will visit. Johannesburg had several water companies and piped water to Randsburg.
Randsburg Will be the last town on our tour to visit. Randsburg is a Living Ghost town and accounts for about 50 residents who still call it a home. Most residents are retired miners who will tell fascinating stories. Randsburg is a community where antiques are cheap and people are friendly.
We will leave at 8 am and be back around 9pm. Your fee includes transportation , Lunch , and complimentary drinks. We will be picked up by our driver and his minivan who will take us to our destinations and back. Ther are a few paid parking lots in Down Town Long Beach where we can leave our cars for a day.
