The Vanderhoef is an extension of the Passaic County Arts Center. The Vanderhoef House serves as program, workshop, exhibition space for the arts.

Programs are FREE to the public. $5.00 dollars admittance for workshops.

SPACE IS LIMITED. PLEASE RESERVED IN ADVANCE.

Figure Drawing Club at the Vanderhoef House

Westervelt-Vanderhoef House Historic Landmark

The Figure Drawing club offers artists a casual environment to hone their craft, observational skills and ability to execute a drawing with a LIVE figure model. Artists may choose to practice gesture, contour lines, line quality and weight, negative and positive space, and rendering shapes and measuring proportions. This is a two-hour figure drawing class in which a professional model will be provided. Please note that there is no instructor but staff will be present to assist participants and visitors. We will practice with a series of ten 5-+minute poses and two 25-minute poses. Suggested Material: Please note that no drawing materials will be provided, only a model. • Graphite drawing pencils • Charcoal pencils • Black & White charcoal sticks • Pastel/Oil sticks • Sharpener • Kneaded eraser • Sketchbook • 11x17 or bigger drawing pad or newsprint • Color pencils • Micron pens • Blending stumps • Artist's sketch board Artists/Participants are not limited to these materials, please bring your choice of drawing tools. Light refreshments will be served. Registration required.
