If you missed last year's Red/Expo Lines event, here's another chance to experience a PhotoRide...it's like a photowalk but we hop on & hop off stops on LA's metrorail system. This time, we'll be riding the Gold Line which runs from downtown to Pasadena and beyond. I'm still working out all of the details and I could use some input on things to see/do/photograph on the route. Also, any ideas for a good lunch spot would also be helpful. If you have any thoughts or suggestions, please pipe up in the comments section below or message me privately if you prefer.

We'll definitely spend a little time around Union Station & Olvera Street. Chinatown also seems like an obvious stop, but what else? What about going all the way out to Santa Anita Park for the horse races? The LA Arboretum is also right there. The famous Rose Bowl Flea Market will also be happening that day. The problem is that all of these have entrance fees, not a lot ($5-$10 each), but things add up and I don't want to burden anyone. Finally, this event is pretty much an all day affair but if your schedule doesn't allow or if you simply get tired, you can always jump on the next train towards your car or home. I'll post more specifics about our route as I get them worked out. Hope to see you out there,

• What to bring
Besides your camera & photo gear, bring the things you would for a day out like water, sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks, etc.

• Important to know
If you don’t already have a Metro TAP card, you will have to purchase one from a vending machine at any metro stop. The cost is $8 for an all day pass which includes the $1 reloadable TAP card. If you already have a TAP card, purchase a day pass for $7 or make sure you have enough on it to make it through the day.
Also, as mentioned, some places on our schedule may have entrance fees and you will need some lunch money (or pack a lunch).
