Need to build now or later?
Running a LOOP system starts with building the app -- yourself (!@#$%^&*) or by finding someone to help you. As we've said before in this group, when you need to replace your radiator there are 2 ways to do it: become a mechanic or find a mechanic.
We've been fortunate in the past to have people who can build for us. But new situations arise in people's lives and we can't always rely on favors. Loop is too important.
I've been made aware of a Nightscout-based service that is more stable and includes the ability to build your Loop app remotely.
The T1Pal service offers people help with both building and set-up/analysis. The fee depends on the level of service needed:
-- New-to-Loop users get more help/time with set up
-- Existing Loopers have less need with set up, so the emphasis for them is more immediate optimization of Loop by using Nightscout data
-- There is also a maintenance service available for app updates and Nightscout management
We hope this service will be another tool/option for Loopers. The remote app "flash" enables you to get help even if you are stuck in another state like I was a few weeks ago. This can also extend the potential for Loop to people who don't happen to live in the Bay area or near a group that builds.
