Mission Statement

The Artisan Food Guild is dedicated to improving member access to information about local sources of food by facilitating better communication, education and collaboration within the local food and beverage community. The AFG works with consumers, farmers, producers, distributors, retailers, restaurants, educators, nonprofits, public agencies and consumers to gather, organize, sort, prioritize, promote and celebrate great food and beverage ideas, products, services and public learning opportunities.

Everyone eats. Therefore, no one is excluded from participating in the Artisan food Guild regardless of your food interests whether it be vegan, vegetarian, paleo, macrobiotic, carnivore, fast food, slow food or any other legitimate food and beverage class.

We believe that we can all learn from each other and prefer to celebrate our commonalities rather than focus on our differences. Though our ranks are inclusive (all are welcome), the AFG occasionally endorses the most exceptional food and beverages products, projects and programs (in each class) so that our members can experience and celebrate the very best that the local market has to offer.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to inspire the best possible food experience for all Americans.The present data available to the public on food options, education, career development and business opportunities is fragmented, making it very difficult for people to really know what’s going on, who is doing what, where to go to get what they need and when things are happening. This chaos makes it tedious to make good food decisions – whether that challenge is about what’s happening in the local food scene or which local food opportunities and resources are available in each community.

Our team of consumers and culinary partners build bridges between all parties to make the local food scene more organized, accessible and fun for all. We employ the very best data collection processes, assessment protocols and management technology to create a comprehensive local food and beverage reference system, making it easier for people to access the information they want or need to make the best choices about what they eat and drink. Then, we promote dynamic public events to celebrate local food culture and its impact on society. If the topic is local food and beverages, we are your one-stop learning solution.

Who Should Join?

Anyone interested in learning more about the local food scene, anyone developing a special family recipe or experimenting with your very own life changing personal menu, anyone who owns a food business interested in improving your operations, anyone who has a dream of developing their food and beverage knowledge/skills to the highest level or anyone and everyone who simply loves to share great food and beverages with great people!
