Please note, because the first Tuesday in November is election day, we are pushing the monthly meeting out one week.
October’s art challenge is:
The challenge was announced at the October meeting. Members can use the time in-between meetings to work on their artwork. The chalk medium can be white and colored chalk, pastels or any powdery pigment that you can apply to a surface. “Happiness" needs no explanation. Completed challenge pieces must be brought to the November meeting for display.
Anyone can bring an art challenge piece but only Guild members are eligible to have their work judged and considered for a show of members’ work which will happen near the end of 2018. Not a member? No problem, the membership application for the Guild can be found at https://www.coastalartsguildct.com/membership-application/.
Artists For World Peace has asked the Guild to submit more canvases tor their art wall which will go on display in various cities throughout the USA. If you want more information, you can read about their organization here: https://www.artistsforworldpeace.org/our-work.
The 6x6 4 Peace canvases must be 6” x 6” x ¾”. Deadline is the November meeting on November 13 (The first Tuesday is Election Day. Be sure to go out and vote!). We will submit all the canvases as a group from the Coastal Arts Guild of CT. Non members are welcome to participate. We will deliver the canvases to their office in Middletown.
Also, if you’re working on any new work you’d like to share, please bring it along. That includes visual, spoken word, anything that’s an art.
