Spring is around the corner and it's time for the March meeting of the Coastal Arts Guild of CT

The art challenge for February is:
Medium: Fibers
Theme: Future

The challenge is announced at the February meeting members can work on their art pieces up to the March 5 meeting.

"Fibers" can be any type of textile or threads, including wire, carpet remnants, yarn, old, ripped jeans, etc. Use fibers as the main medium or use it in mixed media with other materials and mediums.

The "future" is yet to be defined in your mind's eye. The future is what you make of it. Be creative.

Anyone can bring an art challenge piece but only Guild members are eligible to have their work judged and considered for a show of members’ work which will happen near the end of 2019. Not a member? No problem, the membership application for the Guild can be found at https://www.coastalartsguildct.com/membership-application/.

Artists For World Peace has asked the Guild to submit more canvases tor their art wall which will go on display in various cities throughout the USA. If you want more information, you can read about their organization here: https://www.artistsforworldpeace.org/our-work

This is an ongoing project. The 6x6 4 Peace canvases must be 6” x 6” x ¾”. Bring completed canvases to the March meeting on Tuesday, March 5th. We will deliver all the canvases from the Coastal Arts Guild of CT to Artists for World Peace in Middletown. Non members are welcome to participate.

Also, if you’re working on any new work you’d like to share, please bring it along. That includes visual, spoken word, anything that’s an art.
